Proposal Passed

Demand Johnson & Johnson Stop Global Sales of Cancer-causing Products

We want Johnson & Johnson to stop the sale of its talc-based powder globally. Shockingly, Johnson & Johnson continues to say that their product is “safe” even though long-term use of talcum powder has been linked to multiple cancers including ovarian cancer and mesothelioma.

We are pleased to share that this campaign has been successful! This campaign is still available for you to invest in, but please bear in mind that the campaign topic may change next year as we prepare for the 2023 AGM. We have sent out information to all Tulipshare users who have invested in this campaign, and we will continue to keep you updated with next steps.

Our Goal

Tulipshare has submitted a proposal to Johnson & Johnson demanding the termination of global sales of the company’s talc-based powder. By investing in our campaign, you’re adding your voice to a call-to-action seeking to hold Johnson & Johnson accountable and putting an end to the sale of this known cancer-causing product globally, not just in North American markets.

Why It's Important

Johnson & Johnson’s talc-based Baby Powder (talcum powder) was shown to contain traces of asbestos - a carcinogen known to cause cancer with no safe exposure level. What’s worse is that Johnson & Johnson reportedly knew about the asbestos contamination, yet continued to heavily market the product to minority, overweight women.

How Tulipshare works
We identify opportunities for ethical change at public companies
These opportunities are identified through our own research analysts and the community we’ve built at Tulipshare. We then work with our legal team to verify and build our campaign.
We work to acquire company shares so that we can engage as an investor
Unfortunately, there’s a minimum investment threshold to be able to vote and propose changes at public companies. That’s why we created Tulipshare - so that we can unify the investing power of like-minded individuals to drive change from within.
We leverage the collective shares of our investor community
Once we acquire enough shares, we start discussions with the company to promote ethical change. This isn’t always easy and the company may object to our requests. However we keep our investors informed of progress and all communications - so you’re aware of what’s happening every step of the way.
