Raytheon Needs to Manufacture a Defence Plan For Climate Change
Raytheon is an aerospace defence technology company, manufacturing products that are carbon-intensive from production to use. Their current emission goals fall short of what is desperately needed, both in terms of a Net Zero Goal (none to be found) and a commitment to reduce all emissions. Shareholders and governments (to varying extents, of course) acknowledge the need for companies to set and meet comprehensive climate targets to have a chance at limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees. As You Sow’s latest resolution filed with Raytheon brings the concerns of shareholders (and the planet) to Raytheon’s board, asking them to acknowledge and adequately respond to the climate crisis.

Our Goal

Our goal is to support As You Sow’s proposal to Raytheon Technologies by launching a campaign that allows individuals to invest in a safer and more just future where high carbon-emitting corporations with a global reach are making meaningful progress in establishing and meeting climate commitments.

A “win” would result in Raytheon Technologies agreeing to issue a report, at reasonable expense and excluding confidential information, disclosing how the Company intends to reduce its supply chain greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in alignment with the Paris Agreement's 1.5°C degree goal requiring net zero emissions by 2050.
